What is the Pretoria East Robotics League?
The Pretoria East Robotics League is a fun, hands-on coding and robotics competition for schools in Gauteng. It’s designed to give learners a chance to work as a team, apply their coding skills, and experience a real competition environment — all while having fun and learning something new.
But it’s not just for learners — teachers are part of the action too! Teachers help run the league, mark the teams, and connect with other schools. It’s a space for collaboration, learning, and celebrating progress together.
Who is it for?
How does the competition work?
Each school enters a team of learners
Teams are given challenges to solve using coding and robotics
Judges (mostly teachers!) assess teamwork, problem-solving, and how well the challenges are completed
Points are scored and winners are announced
We end with a prize giving
What happened at the last competition?
Our first ever league event was a huge success!
Five schools took part:
Hatfield Christian School
Laerskool Garsfontein
Laerskool Rooihuiskraal

Arbor Primary School
We saw great teamwork, creative problem-solving, and lots of laughter.
Winners of Round 1:
1st place: Hatfield Christian School
2nd place: Laerskool Louis Leipoldt
3rd place: Laerskool Rooihuiskraal
A big thank you to the teachers who judged and cheered everyone on — and to the learners who made us proud!

Ready to join?
If you’re already a Resolute school, sign up your learners now and get ready for the next round!
Not a Resolute school yet? No worries — you can buy a bot from our online store and join the fun.
Curious but not sure? Come view the competition as a teacher, parent, or student — see what it’s all about!
Join the league now and be part of something exciting. Let’s grow robotics together, one bot at a time!
Not in Gauteng?
Good news! Even if you’re not based in Pretoria East, you’ll still have a chance to join the fun. We’re working on launching two more Robotics Leagues very soon — one in Johannesburg and one in the Western Cape.
So keep an eye out! Your learners could be the next coding champs in your region.
