Conferences|10 April 2024
After some weeks since the events, we have had the opportunity to reflect on Schoolscape One and what these events mean to Resolute Education. It would be a massive oversight to state that the Schoolscape One events hosted this year are just an opportunity for schools to engage with service providers in the education space. Truth be told, these events act as an incredible conduit for collaboration between educators and industry.
Held in Johannesburg, at the Indaba Hotel, Spa and Conference Centre, Sandton, and in Cape Town at the Protea by Marriott Hotel in Stellenbosch, these events brought together top educators, principals, and leading EdTech providers for a day of learning, conversation, and innovation.
Guided by their very own Peter Morgan, CEO, the Schoolscape team delivered an inspiring lineup of speakers, including our very own Innovation Ambassador, Lerato Shuping (St Stithians Girls Preparatory), and industry titans such as Willem Kitshoff (D6) and Wesley Lynch (Snapplify).
In years past, educators were eager to learn about emerging software and technology that could help their schools and learners navigate the demands of the future. In years past, EdTech providers were eager to entertain as well as educate with the incredible innovations that they had on offer. Today, the relationship between educators and EdTech providers has matured tenfold. Conversations have moved beyond introductions to technology and grown into wonderful exchanges of ideation and innovation around academic impact, subject integration, and sustainable future-focused solutions.
Educational and entertaining. Who could ask for more? Round off with delicious food and snacks, exciting prizes, and full-to-the-brim goodie bags, Schoolscape, we look forward to the next one! We would like to make special mention of some of the characters in attendance that we count among fellow pioneers in driving innovation in education. These include Eric Cotton (SMD), Tim Holliday (2simple), Alix du Toit (Reflective learning), Christopher Muller (Advantage Learn), Mike Notley (Wonde), and Brian Mushongera (Edshed).
We also want to take this opportunity to thank our publishing and exhibiting partners, Oxford University Press, who, as always, bring unparalleled quality and standards to all that they do. A special welcome to their new sales director, Chris Naidoo, who could be easily spotted laughing with educators and exhibitors at the Cape Town event.
It will always take many community members to change the face of education, and judging from the above, Schoolscape certainly knows how to find them.
Lastly, Congratulations to our “where’s Novy” winners, who each walked away with fantastic Resolute and Oxford prize hampers!
