OUP and Resolute Education partner to bring cutting-edge Coding and Robotics to South African schools.
There has been much excitement in South Africa with a draft Coding and Robotics curriculum being piloted in a number of schools in 2022. Schools and parents are keen for their children not to be left behind, therefore Oxford University Press (OUP) has teamed up with Resolute Education to offer a holistic solution for schools.
Combining Oxford’s experience, brand trust and footprint in education with the innovative and dynamic brain power and design of an ed-tech company like Resolute Education brings the best of both partners’ expertise to addressing the challenges of 21st Century skills in society and the classroom of today.
This partnership offers a winning solution consisting of a widely tested curriculum to provide guidance to, and comprehensive training for, teachers. It also offers a cleverly designed and versatile kit with components that provide everything learners need during their online and classroom learning experience. For the more paper-based classroom, the solution includes worksheets, lesson plans and workbooks to enhance the learning experience alongside the technology components in the kits. No matter where schools are on their digital journey, this partnership offers a diverse and all-inclusive solution to cater for a range of classroom needs and to deliver a seamless and rewarding learning experience to both teacher and learner.
“We are thrilled to partner with Resolute Education to bring a coding and robotics solution to schools in South Africa that we know will support teachers to deliver this essential new introduction into a subject area that is likely to create many jobs for the young people in the country in future. The manufacturing of all devices, machinery, household equipment, cars, etc. requires coding capability, and has already become a scarce and essential skill for future jobs. We are excited to be able to transform lives by offering the foundation for this essential skill set,” says Hanri Pieterse, Managing Director of Oxford University Press Africa.
Rajesh Pasungili, Co-Founder and CEO of Resolute Education added, “Partnering with Oxford was an easy decision for us. They have years of experience in the education space and understand the needs of schools and teachers. They have built strong relationships with schools and teachers, and are a trusted brand with a dedicated team interested in exploring new subjects through innovative partnerships. We are excited about our launch and hope to make teaching a smooth and enjoyable experience for everyone involved. ”
